Cumberland County Government
Mourns the Loss of
Planning & Inspections Director

Cumberland County Planning and Inspections Director, Barry Warren, age 54, died Wednesday night of an apparent heart attack.

Warren, who was hired as the County's Planning Director in December 2000, was recently promoted to the Planning and Inspections Director when the two departments were combined in October 2001.

Prior to coming to Cumberland County, Warren served as the Planning Director in Caldwell, County.

"We are all saddened by the news of Barry's death," said County Manager James E. Martin. "He was an excellent leader for our planning and inspections efforts. He may have been with us a short time, but long enough for him to make a tremendous difference. He will certainly be missed."

Warren is survived by his wife, Judy and two adult sons.
