New COVID-19 Vaccines Approved The FDA has approved and granted emergency use authorization (EUA) for updated COVID-19 vaccines for the 2024-2025. We expect the updated COVID-19 and flu vaccines to be available at the health department in September or October, based on availability from the manufacturers. The Centers of Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone ages 6 months and older get the 2024–2025 COVID-19 vaccine. This includes people who have received a COVID-19 vaccine before and people who have had COVID-19. With this announcement, the Fall 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccines are no longer authorized.
