Kirk deViere was elected to the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners as a District 2 representative in 2024 for a four-year term and was subsequently elected Chairman of the Board on December 2, 2024. His current term expires in 2028.
deViere was born in Florida to a mother whose hard work and sacrifice established the values that guide him today. As the first person in his family to earn a college degree, and following 10 years of service in the US Army, deViere found his home in Fayetteville and Cumberland County in 2000.
Prior to his current role, deViere served two terms as a North Carolina State Senator and one term as a Fayetteville City Councilman. He currently serves as a Commissioner on the North Carolina Military Affairs Commission, appointed by the President Pro-Tem of the NC Senate.

Professionally, he owns and operates 219 Group, a full-service advertising agency with offices in Fayetteville and Raleigh. He is also a partner in WhyAxis, a strategic consulting firm, and The Decisive Point, a strategic communications firm.
deViere is married to Jenny Beaver deViere, and they have one son, Greyson. They attend Snyder Memorial Baptist Church.
