Librari-Con Returns in Person Sept. 16 at Headquarters Library

Sep 13, 2023

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Librari-Con mini anime convention returns to Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane, on Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 2023 Librari-Con marks a return to holding the event in person instead of virtually since 2019. Librari-Con was held virtually in 2020 and 2021.

Librari-Con is a fantastic opportunity for fans, newcomers and families to come together, share their passion and explore the diverse and creative world of anime, manga and fandom culture. The event is free and features activities for all ages to include:

  • Cosplay Runway – Dress up as your favorite character and walk the runway. Show off your craftsmanship and creativity.
  • Ask the Artists Panel Discussion – Discover local talent, engage with knowledgeable guest speakers, and learn about being an entrepreneur and artist.
  • Interactive Workshops – Participate in interactive workshops, including Comics Out Loud, tea brewing, and cardboard cosplay.
  • Gaming – Test your gaming skills with the Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, Pokemon card game battles, a one-shot Dungeons and Dragons campaign and more.

Librari-Con is not only a celebration of anime and fandom but also an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate shared interest and foster creativity and imagination in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Librari-Con is made possible through the generous support of The Friends of the Cumberland County Public Library, Inc. The first Librari-Con was held in 2007 and has become a major annual event.
