County Has 360 Positive Cases

The Department of Public Health reports there are 360 total positive COVID-19 cases involving Cumberland County residents, an increase of four since Thursday. Nine residents have died from complications associated with the coronavirus.  

The average age of positive cases is 44 and women make up 53%.

This afternoon, Sheriff Ennis Wright announced in a media release that four detention officers at the Cumberland County Detention Center have tested positive for COVID-19. In a congregate living setting, an outbreak is defined as two or more cases. The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services has listed the Cumberland County Detention Center on its report of outbreaks in congregate living settings.
