Cooperative Extension Announces Cast Iron Cooking, Fruit Tree Pruning Workshops

Cumberland County Cooperative Extension will hold two Better Living series workshops in February. Spots are limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Cast Iron Cooking will be held Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Participants will learn how to season, cook with, and care for cast iron skillets. The $10 registration fee is due by Feb. 10. The workshop will be held at the Cooperative Extension Agriculture Center, 301 E. Mountain Dr., Fayetteville.

How to Prune Your Fruit Trees will be held Feb. 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Learn the proper approach, timing and method for maximizing fruit tree production at the N.C. State research farm in Clayton. Dress warmly; the demonstration will be outdoors. Lunch will be on your own. The $10 registration fee is due by Feb. 17. Transportation will be provided.
