Landfill Hosts E-Waste Drive, Tours and Shredding Event Nov. 16

Oct 29, 2019

Cumberland County Solid Waste Management, Sustainable Sandhills, Cumberland County Schools and Fayetteville Beautiful will hold an Electronic Waste (e-waste) Drive Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to noon at the Ann Street Landfill at 698 Ann Street.

Residents can bring in electronic waste such as old televisions, computers, stereos, DVD players, computer monitors, video game players and other electronics.

The event is part of America Recycles Day and will include giveaways and landfill tours at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. Residents will board vans for a short ride around the landfill and learn about the Solid Waste Management Department operations.

In addition, shredding services will be available for the regular charge of 35 cents per pound.

Individuals should follow the red E-Waste signs and go directly to the recycling area where volunteers from Fayetteville Beautiful, Sustainable Sandhills and the schools will put the electronics into containers for Solid Waste to recycle.

County Solid Waste accepts electronics at its convenience centers year-round during normal business hours. Go to co.cumberland.nc.us/solid_waste or call 910-321-6920 for more information.
