More Than 100 Employers Expected at March 21 Job Fair

The annual Cumberland County Department of Social Services March to Work Job Fair is March 21 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Crown Expo Center, 1960 Coliseum Dr. This year’s event is expected to draw more than 100 employers and thousands of job seekers.

Job seekers will have the opportunity to meet employers, hand out their resumes and apply for jobs. They are advised to dress professionally; bring plenty of resumes; and be prepared for short, on-the-spot interviews with potential employers.

A variety of industries will be represented at the job fair including business/professional, child care, education, customer service, government, distribution, food service, health care, retail and more. All job seekers, regardless of their skill set, are invited to attend this free event.

The Internet Job Café hosted by the Cumberland County Public Library and Information Center will be available for job seekers to submit online job applications during the event. The Cumberland County NC Works Career Center will also provide staff and services to help job seekers with resume review, NC Works registration, veterans services and career training services and information.

The City of Fayetteville Transportation Department and B & W Transportation will provide free van transportation to and from the job fair about every 15 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. City vans will pick up from the FAST Transit Center and B & W Transportation vans will pick up from DSS, 1225 Ramsey St., and the NC Works Career Center, 414 Ray Ave. The last trip from the Crown Expo for all vans will depart at 2:30 p.m.
