Cooperative Extension Hosts Free Farming Workshop on March 15

Cumberland County Cooperative Extension will host a free workshop for Veterans, African Americans, American Indians, Hispanics, or other under-represented groups interested in entering or continuing a successful agricultural enterprise.

The workshop will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 9 am – 4:00 pm in the Cumberland County Extension office, located at 301 East Mountain Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28306.

Topics of discussion will include: farm business planning, programs and technical assistance available through the USDA and NC Cooperative Extension, receive and learn to use free personal protective equipment, a first aid kit and fire extinguisher, learn how to use and manage USDA funded projects, learn how to prevent farm-related illness and injuries, receive free health screenings, and sign up for a tour to learn about successful operations of farmers with USDA funded projects.
