Spring Lake WIC Office Hours Change

Sep 25, 2018

The Cumberland County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) office in Spring Lake will change its hours to Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. effective Oct. 1. The change will mean that all three WIC offices in the county have the same hours.

The WIC office at the Cumberland County Department of Public Health, 1235 Ramsey St., offers extended hours the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The WIC Program strongly encourages and provides support for breastfeeding; however, if a mother chooses to offer formula to feed her infant, WIC provides a contract brand of iron-fortified infant formula for the first year of life. Effective Oct.1, the contract formula for NC WIC will change brands. This change will affect infants on standard milk-based or soy-based formulas. Infants prescribed a special formula will not be affected by this change.
