Wade To Dedicate Renovated Community Center May 12

FAYETTEVILLEThe Town of Wade invites the public to attend a grand re-opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Wade Community Center Saturday, May 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. The community center is located at 4070 Church St., Wade. The event will begin with the ribbon cutting at 3 p.m., followed by refreshments and tours of the building.

 

The Town of Wade worked with Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation to remodel and update the building. The Cumberland County Engineering and Infrastructure department managed the project. The upgrades include an addition featuring handicap accessible bathrooms, sidewalks and parking space. A new roof, new heating and air conditioning unit, new counters and new exterior and interior paint were added. A picnic shelter was also built next to the community center. The cost of the project was approximately $180,000 and was funded through Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation.
