What is the Economic Impact of COVID-19?

A new survey has launched to measure the economic impact of COVID-19 on Cumberland County’s business community. Created by the City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, Fayetteville Cumberland Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC), Cumberland Community Foundation, Center for Economic Empowerment and Development (CEED), The Cool Spring Downtown District, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Convention and Visitors Bureau, the economic impact survey will inform recovery efforts and aid for a variety of business sectors.

The 21 – question survey will take an estimated five minutes to complete. Businesses in Cumberland County are encouraged to participate. Take the survey

Apply for Unemployment in NC

The only way to file for unemployment in NC is through the Division of Employment Security. The website is www.des.nc.gov and the Customer Call Center is 888-737-0259. You may also email des.ui.customerservice@nccommerce.com.

The Customer Call Center can assist with claims, resetting accounts or passwords and answer specific questions.

The U.S. Small Business Administration Offers Disaster Assistance to North Carolina Small Businesses Economically Impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans for working capital to North Carolina small businesses suffering substantial economic injury as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), SBA Administrator Jovita Carranza announced today. SBA acted under its own authority, as provided by the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act that was recently signed by the President, to declare a disaster following a request received from Gov. Roy Cooper on March 17, 2020.
