The Cumberland County Animal Control Office enforces all state and local laws
pertaining to the ownership, regulation and control of dogs, cats, and other
animals within the County. The department is responsible for picking up stray
animals, livestock, exotic animals as well as nuisance wildlife and rabid
animals. Animal Control officers respond to calls all over the County, check for
compliance with rabies vaccination laws, as well as dog and cat license
The Department also investigates all animal bites as mandated by
North Carolina law. If you are attacked or bitten by an animal, call
Animal Control at 910-321-6852 to report it and try to locate the owner
of the animal, if possible. Then seek medical attention if the skin has been broken.

Notice of Execution Sale of Livestock – March 4
Cumberland County Animal Control will hold an auction for livestock at the shelter, 4704 Corporation Drive, on
March 4 at 10 a.m. Required registration for bidders will take place from 9 – 9:45 a.m. Cash is the only method of
payment accepted. Five horses, two potbelly pigs and one goat will be sold to the highest bidders. Pictures and
